About Us
Hello…
My name is Carina, and I’m passionate about helping children learn to swim in a safe, warm and friendly environment. My lessons focus on building confidence in the water while helping each child progress at their own pace.
Children learn all four main swimming strokes—front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly—with a strong emphasis on developing excellent technique.
My journey as a swimming teacher began when my husband and I bought a house with a small indoor pool. After the birth of my first child, Anna, I became increasingly aware of the importance of water safety and wanted to teach her to swim confidently. I began offering lessons to local children, and what started small quickly grew through recommendations from families.
Over the years, I have completed training in lifeguarding, aqua aerobics, Rookie Lifeguard and the British Sub-Aqua Club programme. I have taught both adults and children, including mixed aqua aerobics classes at High Wycombe and Marlow sports centres. I am also a qualified PADI diver.
I now specialise in teaching children, which I find incredibly rewarding. Every child is different, so I continually adapt my lessons to suit their individual abilities, confidence and learning style.
My qualifications are fully up to date, and I regularly complete continuing professional development (CPD) courses. Having recently moved to Hertfordshire, I am delighted to now offer swimming lessons to families in the local area.
